Finding a balance...and making the time!

So, I went to the gym tonight. I was hoping to run a solid 6 miles. I haven't run in probably 3 weeks (I went to KY for week and Christmas was part of that...)...anyways, I couldn't make it! I am soo disappointed in myself. I REALLY want to run the marathon in April. The training program I was going to use is already on week 4, which isn't really an issue since the longest run is only 7-8 miles (which is Saturday's run). I think I can make it...I will just need to push myself. Hopefully, I will be able to run the marathon in April...if not, I will at least be doing the half! It's really hard to find the balance between home, work, and exercise these days! I need to find the balance and make the time.

  1. Trust me, I KNOW how you feel!!! Even though we participate in "active rest" activities like snowboarding on our trip to Stowe, I'm definitely not where I was fitness-wise before vacay. It's hard not to get disappointed in myself.

But, Jen, you're fit. It's not like you're going from couch potato to marathon runner in 4 months. I'm completely confident you will get to where you need to be before April. It's just vacation and Christmas sort of throws off our routine.

I personally find working out first thing in the morning to work best for me and our schedule. When I take care of my health, I can better take care of my family. Plus, it's an energizing way to start the day and I can just get it out of the way. It does suck having to wake up at 4:50am, though, not gonna lie. You, too, will find your balance and a routine that works best for you and your family. It's about finding what works best for you and then making it a habit. Don't get discouraged! You definitely have what it takes to cross the finish line in April!
